We are David & Julie Jones
We created, owned and operated The Blue Heron Inn, which consisted of ten rooms, on Amelia Island for thirteen years, from 2011 until 2024. We managed all the food and beverage, housekeeping, reservations, landscaping, maintenance and other operating responsibilities while supervising a part-time staff. During that time, we became the number one rated inn on the island by TripAdvisor. Amelia Island has recently been rated the third best island in the world by Conde’ Nast Travelers. We were members of the Professional Association of International Innkeepers, now known as Association of Lodging Professionals (ALP) and held a 5-Star Diamond Registry with Bed and Breakfast.com.
Serving our guests’ needs has always been our focus despite the many changes within the industry today. We have since sold our successful inn and we are combining our passion of travel and serving guests by becoming interim innkeepers for bed & breakfasts, inns, and boutique hotels along the southeastern Atlantic seaboard.
Who we are…
David
Before owning and managing the Blue Heron Inn, David consulted with many Fortune 500 companies.
David has a degree in industrial engineering and a minor in business management. He also has a Food Handler Certification.
David is passionate about helping others in the hospitality industry thrive.
Julie
Julie has a BA in Communications and has worked in news journalism at CNN as well as a public relations specialist for an international association management firm. She has a Masters degree in Education. Julie currently holds a Food Safety Manager Certification.
Julie loves to curate a truly unique experience with her eye for tablescapes, decor, and beautifully served food and drinks.
