The breakfasts were so fantastic I (a notorious night owl and morning hater) loved getting up to start the day. Each day was something new with lovely twists to favorite breakfast foods and truly was a treat to the senses. The happy hour was another treat with a beverage and a cheese platter that was so beautifully arranged.
David and Julie were a wealth of information and every recommendation was spot on. It was awesome hearing the stories David and Julie would share about the history of the house, neighborhood and the island.
I have never had such attentive hosts and they really are what makes the Blue Heron Inn so amazing! Seriously, don’t look any further for B&Bs because this one is top notch. We will definitely be coming back.

My 16 year old daughter and I decided to drive somewhere warm rather than stay home for her spring break this year. Where should we go? Well, I am a HUGE John Grisham fan and remember that he spoke fondly of Amelia Island. While googling places to visit, The Blue Heron Inn stood out mainly because of their marvelous reviews. Let’s just say, the online write ups did not disappoint. The owner, Julie texted about our ETA on our drive in and greeted us at the entrance of her charming residence with a tour of the property and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Every morning she made the most amazing breakfast with the first serving of juice or coffee and cream in delicate antique tea cups and saucers. We mainly enjoyed her homemade blueberry pancakes and yogurt fruit parfait. After our daily excursions we would return to a 5:00 evening of a beautiful platter of charcuterie and a glass of wine. She made our dinner reservations for us and was incredibly informative about the island!
